With the world changing at a fast pace, education must keep evolving to meet the aspirations of the students and contribute towards the goals of society in general. To arrive at the point of convergence is a daunting task. Despite the formidable challenges, we are committed to providing the best education which is a blend of the traditional and the modern to all the students who walk into the portals of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh. The vision of the founding fathers of DAVs is the beacon of light in our march towards excellence. As we celebrate the bicentennial birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati ji, we also realize that his teachings rooted in the Vedic ideals remain as relevant and meaningful as ever. His lofty ideals of taking pride in our rich heritage while maintaining a rational temperament form the backdrop of all our endeavours. Hon’ble President of DAV CMC Managing Committee Shri Punam Suri ji inspires us to achieve the objective of building the character of students and reminds us to keep in mind the mantra of ‘Keep Smiling’ as we wade through our personal and professional lives. He encourages everyone to engage in Swadhyaya. Spending time in meaningful pursuits serves to mould the character imbued with positivity and resilience.

We stay invested in the right actions with the right intent and this is one of the basic principles which guides our endeavours. We are committed to providing holistic education to our students as they navigate their lives through the challenges of the ever-changing world. Their personalities are chiselled so that they may contribute to the society, nation and the world at large. Several events are organized to complement the education that students receive at our college. Our dedicated faculty remains the backbone of all our initiatives as we envision the all-around development of our students. With ecological imbalance threatening the very existence of humankind, we strive to nurture students who are sensitive to the natural world. Many clubs and committees of the college organize various events, drives, and engagements with experts in the respective fields to enhance and enrich the learning process. With the implementation of NEP 2020 in our college with the session 2024-25, more focus is laid on skill-based learning and content which inculcates pride for our roots in the students. We also encourage research initiatives of students and faculty and add value to the existing corpus of research.

A coveted seat of learning for women’s education, MCM has created a niche in diverse fields and our alumnae bear testimony to the holistic education that is imparted in the college.
