B.Sc. – Microbial and Food Technology
Our government is encouraging the setting up of ventures relating to food industry. The course B.Sc. – Microbial & Food Technology is a collaborative approach to discover new avenues in this sector as both the fields are complementary to each other. The course will help the students to get expertise in the field of food microbiology and microbial technology, microbial genetics, food biochemistry, food processing technology, food analysis, quality control management, food packaging etc.
This will help to explore the field of food science for higher production with application of genetics engineering, safety concern by assuring microbiological quality and for further developments in processed food sector. The students of Microbial and Food Technology will be eligible for jobs such as those of food technologists, food microbiologists, quality control analysts, dietetics / dieticians etc. The students will also be able to pursue further education in the field of microbiology, food technology, biotechnology, dairy technology, genetics, chemistry, packaging technology, dietetics, agriculture based management as well as research and development sector.
Eligibility for B.Sc. – Microbial and Food Technology
Applicant who has passed +2 examination in Non-Medical, Medical Stream from any recognized board/ body/ council / university in India or any other examination recognized by the Syndicate of Panjab University, Chandigarh as equivalent thereto is eligible to apply for this course.
