Under Graduate Level Programmes

Curricular Aspects

The various courses of study offer ample scope to the students to select a suitable course and supplement it with various multi-disciplinary additional options. The college runs degree classes in all the three traditional streams of education – Science, Commerce, Humanities with Honours in ten subjects : English, Political Science, Sociology, Hindi, Economics, History, Psychology, Public Administration, E-Commerce and Business Economics. We have a total of 25 departments offering as many as 19 programmes. Presently, the college is running PG courses in English, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Commerce, Mathematics, Chemistry, Mass Communication and Computer Applications.

Realizing the importance of vocation as an essential parameter in the development of personality as a means to empower women, the college runs various vocational courses. Professional Courses such as B.Sc.-MFT and BCA are also offered to the students. Since the objectives of the institution focus on producing potential women, we equip them with qualifications to start their own enterprise as well with career-oriented courses affiliated to Panjab University (UGC sponsored).

The college also provides a great deal of horizontal and vertical mobility to the students in the choice of core and non-core options and a lot of flexibility in the time frame within the constraints of the prescribed syllabi.

Semester I

Eligibility for Bachelor of Arts

A student who has passed class XII from State Board /CBSE/ICSE/or any other recognized Board/University shall be eligible to seek admission to BA Semester I. The admission shall be made on the basis of Panjab University rules.

If the student is found to be admitted from an unrecognized Board her admission will stand cancelled.

All courses offered and admission will be as per guidelines given by Panjab University.

Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science program helps to develop analytical skills, scientific temperament and research aptitude. Their base in B.Sc. facilitates their progression into higher education and research in diverse scientific areas. The students from science-streams have proven their abilities in Management areas as well due to their rational attitude.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Science

A student who has passed class XII with Science subjects from a recognized University/Board/Council or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent with English (with passing marks) as one of the subjects, shall be eligible to seek admission to 1st Semester of B.Sc./B.Sc. (Honours)/B.Sc.(Honours with research)* degree course.

The admission shall be made on the basis of Panjab University rules.

If the student is found to be admitted from an unrecognized Board, her admission will stand cancelled.

The Bachelor of Computer Applications program trains the undergraduate students in the fundamentals of Computer Science. On successful completion of this course student will have many options to launch prospective careers in various growing sectors. Higher studies leading to masters and doctoral degrees in the field can be pursued.

A student who has passed the class XII Examination in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognized Board. The student should have passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at Matriculation level.

Note: 5% weightage will be given for subject of Mathematics/ Statistics or equivalent to the candidate who has studied the subject at 10+2 level at the time of admission in B.C.A. 1st semester. The admission shall be made on the basis of Panjab University rules.

Course Outcomes: : Provides learners with a global outlook on design, integrating sustainability, cultural sensitivity, socio-economic awareness, effective use of lighting, acoustics and thermal comfort.
Avenues: Interior Designer, Exhibition Designer, Production/Set Designer, Visual Merchandiser (VM), Industrial Designer, and Apparel & Lifestyle Designer.

Video Reporting

Number of Seats: 40
Course Outcomes: : Builds foundational proficiency in video reporting and editing, news writing, creative scriptwriting. It familiarizes learners with different news story formats, principles of photography, and editing techniques.
Avenues: Broadcast journalism, print media, TV production, and other fields within mass communication, Video Reporter, Scriptwriter, Photojournalist, News Editor, and Content Creator.

B.A Honours

Eligibility
1) Students can opt for Honours in Semester – III.
2) The student who opts for Honours must take up the subject concerned as elective in Semester I.
3) The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (Result available at the time of admission) in the concerned subject in the University Examination.
4) Admission will be on the basis of merit and subject to the availability of seats.

Apart from in-depth knowledge in a specific subject, The Honours degree carries with it age-old value. At the same time, it increases the scope of pursuing higher education i.e. Post Graduation in a particular area.

Learning Outcome

The B.Com. program offers a lot of scope and has a wide & wild field. The B.Com program allows the widest possible scope in the fields like :

b) Company Secretary
c) Chartered Financial Analyst
d) Actuarial Science (Related to Insurance) etc.
Commerce graduate can also join Management Programmes with Finance Specilization where they will get a great boosts to the commerce knowledge and fantastic job offers after passing through. They can choose career in computer related courses offered by various institutions for further expanding the fields and skills.

1) Students can opt for Honours in Semester – III.

2) The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (Result available at the time of admission) in the concerned subject in the University Examination.

3) Admission will be on the basis of merit and subject to the availability of seats.
